چکیده

Several turning points in aerospace history are examined to explore possible alternative outcomes and important aspects of the historical significance of the divergences and the impact upon aerospace technology. In early aviation, the aviators Otto Lilien-thal, Samuel Langley, and the Wright Brothers are considered as likely candidates for alternative historical paths. In early rocket development, the lives of the rocket scientists Robert Goddard, Wernher von Braun, and Sergei Korolev are similarly examined.

Optimal nonlinear control of flight faults in manned aircrafts in the presence of fault and failure of control actuato

Control actuators' faults are among the major reasons to lose aircraft control while flights. The plane dynamics is severely dependent upon faults and errors in flight control systems and if the reformed control order is not issued by the fault tolerant controller there would be unpleasant outcomes such as inconsistency and the reduction of system performance and some dreadful aerial accide...

Human and rodent ground-based models of space flight environments.

Today, as we stand on the brink of the 21 century, access to space is still limited and flight costs are still high. Flight opportunities of any kind are rare, but at the same time it is clear that a new era is dawning. The completion of the International Space Station (ISS) will provide mankind, for the first time, with an international, permanently manned outpost for research in space. Lookin...

Evaluation of Visual-Spatial Cognitive Function and Attention in Pilots of Air Force of Islamic Republic of Iran

Introduction: The pilot has a continuous flow of various activities that require navigation, attention, and navigation working memory. Fighter pilots are more vulnerable to cognitive impairment due to positive gravitational acceleration. This point indicates the importance of their cognitive assessments. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate visual-spatial cognitive function and attention in ...

Aiaa 2001-4090 J2 Dynamics and Formation Flight

We study the dynamics of the relative motion of satellites in the gravitational field of the Earth, including the effects of the bulge of the Earth (the J2 effect). Using Routh reduction and dynamical systems ideas, a method is found that locates orbits such that a cluster of satellites remains close with very little dispersing, even with no controls.

Downwash Detection and Avoidance with Small Quadrotor Helicopters

By using four independent rotors to provide lift and control moments, the quadrotor helicopter provides researchers with a small, mechanically simple and e↵ective vertical-flight platform. Typically, the lift and resultant torque due to each rotor can be approximated with simple aerodynamic models. Although these models have proven to be adequate in low advance-ratio flight conditions [1], they...
